I JUST HAD MY WINTER FIREWOOD DELIVERED – IS THERE A “BEST” WAY TO STACK IT?

Firewood can be stored safely, without degrading, as long as it is stacked correctly. Once delivered, stack the firewood as soon as possible, a small distance from your home (maybe 30 feet, as mice and bugs like to live in and around piles of firewood). Always stack firewood off the ground--pallets make a good first layer. Loosely stack the wood and build end caps with alternately stacked firewood or 2 x 4s. It's also important to keep your wood pile covered. Just be sure to cover only the top, leaving the sides exposed so that air can flow through. Balboni's carries high quality firewood, sold with or without bark, and delivered right to your home!
