I LIVE NEAR THE BEACH AND DON’T WANT AN ASPHALT DRIVEWAY. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

How about a crushed seashell driveway?? At Balboni’s, we sell a LOT of seashells for driveways, especially here in our local ocean-side towns. We also have a seascape mix that’s white crushed shells mixed with crushed blue stone! For your first application on the driveway, you need to put the shells down 3” deep, keeping in mind that they will crush down a bit. The shells will be bigger pieces and more off-white than you’d expect. Don’t worry, they will whiten up! You can always sprinkle powdered lime on them to speed up the process but DO NOT use bleach. We also recommend considering bordering your seashell driveway with cobblestones or using cobblestones as a driveway apron. A classic New England look!
